DISSTON SAW??

Walter,Sandusky,Ohio

>I bought this "Disston Saw" at an estate sale. I cannot find anything that resembles it on the Disston website. It does have the WW 2 Steel medallion amd matching scres. It is 19 inches overall with a 15" blade and 10 TPI. Can anyone tell me whether this is a Disston Saw or if it's a fake?? Sorry, I keep getting an error message when I try to post a pic.

>I reduced it to 500 pixels on the wide dimension and increased the compression to 10%. That took it from 105K to about 35K.

>Cheap "Tool Box" saw of recent vintage probably made in Danville Va ....Really a sad reflection on how far Disston saws fell in the end from the older quality saws ....Todd

>Seems to me that the Walter I have heard of from Ohio would know about when this saw was made, and probably wouldn't look at it twice. The one I have heard of wrote a book about Stanley tools.
