What's there to see in Missouri

Nemo Tools

>SWMBO is dragging me out of my shop and taking me on a trip from Cincinnati to Memphis, via St. Louis and down through Missouri. I'll probably be passing through Branson (kicking and screaming). Help me find some things along this route that are woodworking oriented. I'm thinking about some kind of frontier village with crafty stuff. Maybe a big anti-bellum mansion with old classic furniture. Maybe a Lewis and Clark type exibition with crafty stuff to look at.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Arch at St. Louis

Martin from Granbury

>Go to the arch in downtown St. Louis and look at the Lewis and Clark Museum in the bottom.

Not sure how much woodworking, but a neat museum.

Tom Sontag - St. Louis

>The St. Louis Art Museum in Forest Park has a small but decent furniture section.

Silver Dollar City is somewhere around Branson and is the very kind of frontier village thing you asked about: blacksmiths and so on. Probably lots of rides and kid stuff too. See silverdollarcity.com

Unless this is a family outing though, I can't see any reason to go through Branson to get from Cincy to Memphis either.
