Me too!

>Right back at ya Ernie... Looking forward to a nice long weekend too, well...almost. There's also a mile long honeydo list...
Play nice and safe everybody.
OT: I got lucky. No, really lucky!
Steve Kubien
>Last weekend was the Victoria Day Weekend north of the border. I attended a martial arts seminar all weekend long so no honey-do's. That's 'lucky' #1. 'Lucky' #2 was when I tagged the Japanese Sensei in the thumb and he didn't try to 'get me back'. That would've resulted in my demise.
Have a good weekend

Why do I get visions of...

>"Kill Bill" wouldn't be too far off. I study jodo, the way of the stick. It is a series of techniques used by peasants to combat against a katana (picture a samurai sword). As such, I study both sword and jo (jo=4ft staff). It's really cool, great stress relief and injuries are very rare (I do not think Sensei was prepared for just how bad I am at that technique. If he had known, he would've been holding a sword).

P.S. For those interested in such things, go to renseikan.com. That's is the dojo I belong to. Cheers.

>I have a minor interest in such things, but not as a participant. My basement shop occasionally sends a custom bo(6ft staff), eku(oar), or set of tonfa off to NKS in Scarborough. Haven't had a request for a jo tho.
Sensei Philipopoulos, 2nd dan, tells me that sparring with the lower ranks can be dangerous as they are unpredictable. I'm sure that the Japanese Sensei would accept his injury as his fault, not yours. ;-)
