A Spoon!

>Here's my attempt at a spoon inside an hour... almost! I didn't think I would be able to participate but unfortunately my plans changed and I was not able to go to the Tools of the Trade Show in Toronto (an Old Tool Sale.)

Instead I was able to get almost an hour in the shop. Here's my starting point:

>After 25 minutes I noticed a red dye (iron-based) that comes from a biological source. I quickly found the source.

I had been rubbing my finger against the bench, cutting my finger open slightly.

Re: A Spoon! At 3 hours...

>Not much progress... almost none in fact! I haven't had time to go sharpen my carving tools.

I plan on sharpening Tuesday and doing the remainder. I expect that I will easily exceed one hour with the carving and finishing. What a blast!

Bio-Hazard Alert!!!

Don Thompson - Cutler Ridge, Florida

>Ouch!

Seriously, it looks like you are making good progress towards a spoon that will actually hold a pancake's-worth of batter.
