Taking the Combination Plane Plunge

>I have avoided these til now. But I just encountered a Stanley 46 at a flea market and I couldn't resist. It is in fair shape, some nickel missing, a bit of rust here and there, all parts present and accounted for with none frozen, and (most important) no cutters.

I see that St. James Bay sells cutters. Is there anyone else who does? I see a few references to original ones but they are usually more expensive than St. James Bay.

Thanks,

Mark

>I bought some blades for my 46 from Jim Reed and can recommend them. I don't remember the cost, but they fit exactly, sharpen well and hold an edge. He sells hard-to-find parts for other planes as well.
