My illegal spoon.

>I confess up front, my spoon is illegal, and I'm a partial heretic - I used a couple of power tools... But, it's still a spoon, and I had a great time working on it, so here it is.
I caught wind of the spoon threads a little late, and I didn't think I'd have the time or tools to make one, but I got a wild hair tonight and had a go at it. This is a chunk of Beech I just ripped from a log, in the rain behind my shop, in the dark. I grabbed up every tool I thought I might use, and laid them out - the vise top right is the one I used to hold the spoon as I hacked at it. I ripped the log into a square block on the BS, because I don't have any hand saws, then drew my shape and cut it out. From there I used whatever worked: spokeshaves were helpful (my 51 was canabalized to a slight concave shave, which was helpful), a small turning gouge that I reground, a woodturning half round scraper, drawknife, and my marking knife - then, I confess, I used my electric drill to do some power sanding, then some hand sanding, I put a little Watco and wax on it, and called it done.
