New LN Plane

>A few weeks ago, I asked everyone for opinions on the LN and LV large shoulder planes. I ended up buying the LN large shoulder plane and it arrived yesterday. After cleaning up the protective oil and honing the blade I was able to try it out for a few minutes last night. It is NICE! As with all of the LN tools, fit and finish is super. Once I got the blade and mouth adjusted for shoulder cuts it was a joy to work with.

At first I was a little unsure of how it would feel compared to the LV. But after using it last night I think my hand size (XL) is perfect for the plane. I can easily grip it with one hand and feel in complete control.

I have a walnut table set that I've been working on. One table is complete and I'm starting the second table soon so the new plane should earn its keep.

Thanks for everyone's advice.

Initially, when I first looked at the LN that was my biggest concern, sharp edges. I talked to the guys at LN and they also suggested filing the edges very slightly for comfort. Since they do it by hand they said each plane is going to be slightly diferent depending on who did it and home many strokes they took etc. So it seems the one I got must have been eased a little more than the one that I looked at. So far the only spot that might need a little touch up is towards the back.
