>I have a battery charger that won't work unless there is a charge already in the battery. Any idea how I can get it to work? It is new.

Thanks!

>Hook a battery in parallel with it? You might have to figure out a way to limit the current, but this should make the charger work.

>I have done this when charging my own battery on the car but don't have a spare battery.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I guess I need to find an older charger!

>For sure, a means of limiting current should be employed if the battery is in parallel. An accidental short in the electrolysis part would result in massive current draw that could explode the battery. A small diameter wire to the electrolysis would accomplish the task. A short would just burn the wire.
