About that Bowsaw... What blade?

Joe in a Cleveland suburb

>So I'm going to make this bowsaw I posted about yesterday based on the issue #151 of FWW and the advice you folks gave me.

One question I have is what blade should I buy for it and from whom? The article calls for a 12" blade. I would like a blade that would be good for cross cutting and maybe an occasional rip cut.

The article also references WoodCraft and Highland Hardware for sources of supply. I checked both of their websites and couldn't find any good info. The WoodCraft site is horrible at best (no pics or detailed descriptions of the blades) and the Highland site wasn't a lot of help either. I suppose if you knew what you were after, either was fine. But I would like to know specifically what I should get because I don't know.

What specifically would you recommend?

Thank you,

Joe

>I use band saw blades. You can get from such people as Woodcrafts and such. What I do is cut what I need and drill holes were I need. It alot cheaper to do it this way.
