Rust Hunting in Austin TX?

Randy in Langley

>I'm heading to Austin at the end of the month, I've been there several times for business, this time I'm going for pleasure. I'd like to do some rust hunting while I'm there, maybe even pop in to Woodcraft. Any recommended places to see or browse? Any recommended tool stores in Austin or the surrounding area that might not be in Canada?

Thanks for any input.

>So far as I know there's a flea market every weekend, about 5 miles east of I35 on 290. I've never been, found it too late for serious rust hunting.

You can get directions to Woodcraft online, but roughly it's between N. Lamar and Burnett on the south side of Research (183 access road).

There are probably a lot better ways to enjoy Austin.

>Thanks Pam,

I've been to Woodcraft a couple of times before, I know exactly how to get there ;)

Every time I go to Austin I have a good time with the night life and sights, I almost never get a chance to do any rust hunting, that's why I asked.

The night life in Austin is fantastic. The Music, the Sights, the Food, the bats! I think I've been to the Oasis every time I've been to Austin (~13 times) and seen some spectacular sun sets.

I think I've been to the Flea Market you're refering to as well, no rust, but lots of food and car parts.

>Well, it might be time for a visit to the Lady Bird Johnson wildlife center. The vine roses are blooming now, trees budding, grass growing, first wave of weeds invading, and we may be over several weeks of mostly rain and clouds. A great time to come south.
