Bit of a gloat, and a question

>It's officially the beginning of the rusthunting season, I guess; we went out to a couple of sales Saturday.
Second sale had a couple of nice Jennings bits, 1/2" and 1", usually surface rust, $2.00 for the two with a cute little sliding caliper (like a vernier caliper but without the vernier part, measures to 1/32").
Second-to-last sale - to which we went because it wasn't my turn to select firsties - had a boxed set of Jennings bits, 1/4" - 1"*, shiny like in the store, with a clever little dropfront lid - It looked homemade, but very well done. Wright brand - I don't know if this is a good company or not, but the bits are shapely. $10 with a Stanley chisel.
One question on the chisel, which is a 1/4" 750 type - the grinding on the side and side bevels, where it connects to the socket, is very irregular looking, what you might expect to find in a handmade chisel. My Pexto chisels are much more evenly and competently ground. Is this typical of the Stanley chisels, or was this chisel perhaps converted from a wider chisel?
I now have to decide what to do with my box full of bits - I suspect I'll want to use these from now on, on the occasions when I can resist the siren call of the cordless electron-eating drill.
Bill, who posted partly because he couldn't resist the pun.
*except the 5/16" bit is a solid center type. Oh, well. For the price, I can't expect perfection.
