Nice work Bob!

>I was curious about pouring the lead. How do you keep it from scorching the wood? What are those series of holes around the edge of the lead star? Everything looks elegant and well done except in my mind the look of the brass plates that connect the thwart(?) to the gunwales. I like the brass straps on the tiller arm and if you made similar 'L' shaped straps for the thwart I think it would look cleaner. Please don't take this as an offense, I think you did a super job.

>Very interesting, Bob. Do you have a picture of the rest of the boat, or at least the other end of the rudder lines?

>Chalk prevents scorching. So does red lead primer or waterglass.

The brass reinforcing plates for the thwart are part of the design.

>Thanks Bob, that makes sense to follow the design on a traditional boat. If you don't mind another question, what are the two pieces of hardware on the tiller arm on either side of center?

I enjoy seeing your projects and reading your articles, thanks for taking the time to post them.
