frankin plane or bedrock? and saw ?

>I picked up a #5 today round top with a Bedrock levercap but it has bailey on the body and no 605? it appears to be an early type 8 so what do I have? If it is a normal #5 I have a regular lever cap for it and will sell the levercap seperate but if it is an early bedrock I would like to know it has perfect wood and 85-90% japaning

I also have a split nut saw ? I picked up what looks like a D7 #7 split nut saw but it has a warrented superior medallion the eagle looks just like the earliest 1840's Disston eagle with the ring od dots and the head pointing up did the warrented superior nuts change along the same time lines as Disston nuts? This is a near perfect saw and I think the eatch will pop when cleaned but will wait for more info befor cleaning.

>Hey Ernie,

Here comes the fun part. Take it apart...if you got a Flinstone you should know soon as you get the frog off

>But even with the Flintstone signature, it still could be a KeenKutter or a Lie-Nielsen. Since it's a bit larger than a 601, it's probably not a Leachmeister. Ya gotta worry about those weasels out there who regrind the profiles of the modern hack jobs from Maine to make them look like early KKs.
