If a Krenov plane with that huge glue joint comes apart, it likely won't be reglued successfully over the long haul without 20D copper nails and roves to rivet it back together.
Acetone or trichloroethylene wipes work to remove enough oil to make the glue joint last a while, but I suspect as that oil wicks back it'll eventually loosen the epoxy bond.
Bottom line is that it's iffy....and when I spend a fortune on a special wood for a special purpose I'm not willing to live with any "iffy's."
