As I have been getting more confident with it, I tend to start very deep and then ease up a little. With the conventional design (a L-N) in this case, it seems to require three hands to hold the plane, sight the blade, loosen the cap and hold the blade. I am getting better at it but a real coarse adjuster would be pretty handy; the ordinary one would drive one insane with all the twisting though :)
