Just to make the situation a bit more confusing (sorry) I noticed that in the M&T precess pictures that Chris brought to hand out at the Guild meeting (and that are now posted on the Guild website) he is using a #45 - not a #50 - to do his plowing - contrary to what he used in the demo. If you're interested see: p. 1 (picture A), and p. 3 (picture B).

Not that this is a very earth-shattering discovery. I mention it in case you haven't gotten the #50, and wanted to begin to consider #45s for this (and other) work. I'm not advocating that - just showing the basis for the option.

>They are handy little devices to mark out the hinge mortise. Sharp edges the same size as common hinges - just locate it and whack it with a hammer and you have the sides of your hinge mortise all done.
