Nice Haul

Todd O. Cronkhite Maine Native in FL. Exile :~(

>for only $8 ya; done good. Fiqures out to a little over $1 each. while you won't have to fight off any collectors, they all look like they'll be good users.

Read an article today in the Oct. '04 issue of Popular Woodworking where a fellow bought 109 tools for $99.55, and when sold at a silent auction they brought $650!! You gonna make a run for the record? ;~)

I hope not

Dennis

>For the most part i only buy what i have a need for or can or will use, but if somebody sticks something in front of me for a cheap price......hehe you know what i do. It always gets SWMBO when i bring a tool home and she see's me use it less than 24 hours later, and then says "you should have two of them"..... lmao

That $99 tool deal, imo,is possible, just takes the time to rust hunt.

Dennis, who is going to flea market tomorrow just in case is something i need.........lmao

Dale Stansbery

>I have a 2 wheel grinder that I picked up at auction this sumer that also has a slow speed geared round lipped plate that sits horizontally on the top that takes a 4" round stone (no center hole). I haven't cleaned the whole thing up yet, but the stone is dual grit, and both sides are pretty fine. I subsequently picked up another nearly identical stone a few weeks later for a replacement when I drop the first one. It looks like a good system to get a blade ready for final honing.

Re: that stone....interestsing

Dennis

>Like Todd said they make great stone for axe's and such, but the i have had for years is 3" and both grits are courser that this 4" one i picked up. Makes me wonder if this is for a grinder, like what Dale has. The one i just picked has no markings on it other than couple really tiny small chips don't think it ever was used.

Dennis, who has gone cold rust hunting
