>Pull out you catalogs I picked up a pair of disston sisors at a sale today. got there late and all the tool dealers were bitchin cause they listed tools in the add but had squat. any way I was doing my 10 minute walk through No vintage dresses or purses as down to the basement just junk every where but as I look at the top of the wall between the floor joist allways look there I find this spiffy looking pair of cast iron sissors with the steel blades rivited to the handles looks old I take it over to the light and it says DISSTON so when did they make these things? kinda neet built to be used I'm beginning to think that light paint splatters must have been added to cast iron tools at the factory. Is it safe to list them as Seldom Seen?

>Pretty neat. I don't think i have ever seen a pair of Disston sisors and don't believe they are in any of my old Disston catalogs but I'm not surprised that they would make them due to the many other non saw items they made.Probably made many more different Trowels then they did saws and I have only ever seen 1 or 2.I think the main reason is isn't because they are rare but because thier markings soon got lost and that I don't make a habit of looking at trowels ,[or sisors] to see them. After selling the past couple Winchester tools very well I am trying to train myself to look at EVERYTHING a bit closer, so maybe will find some Disston stuff as well....I would feel safe to say that a Disston pair of sisors is a very uncommon tool....Todd
