I wouldn't. The crack appears to be spreading towards the mouth. There are so many good planes out there, why bother with trouble?

>Hi Darin,
I'd pass. I just bought a Miller's Falls #5c, that had been dropped, cracked, and repaired. Paid all of $12. Canadian. The parts alone, were worth many times more. A week later, I bought another old #5 Stanley, with pristine body, good iron. All parts intact, except the tote, which was cracked. Price,,,,, Again $12. These are very common, Darin.
All the best, Bob
