Rob Lee - drill bit help?

Gary from Vancouver, BC

>Rob I need your help. I believe LV carried the drill bits as shown below at one time (long ago) Much to my frustration, I have been unable to source the manufacturer or a supplier to buy some of these. The bits are only marked HSS and the diameter size. Do you know who made them or where I might be able to buy some?

I truly like them, they have wide flutes for chip clearance and bore a wonderfully clean hole.

My apologies in advance to anyone flustered at my liberties in posting a non-handtool topic on this board. Please indulge me, since I do contribute on occasion and know that the folks here have helped on numerous topics.

>Those would fit just fine in a breast drill - so this qualifies as a hand tool topic too.

>Those look like split point parabolic bits. You should be able to pick them up from any well stocked machine tool supplier.MSC would be a good place to start. The ones I own are cobalt.

>Thank you Rob. I'll contact the vendor and possibly get back to you on the odd sizes you still have in stock. I have a business trip until Friday, so I'll reach you then. Thank you very much, once again.
