>Will galvanized nails ultimately stain an outdoor white oak project?

Do they make stainless steel nails (is that what I need?)

Would it be too blatant to say this applies to the garden shed which allows me to take over more space in the garage and makes room for a new j/p?

>I would use stainless steel nails. The sell them at HD. If you don't have one you can buy them from some specialty roofing and siding contractors if you only need a few. BTW I think the black stains are appealing witht the grey shade white oak turns.

>You can get copper nails or I have heard if dipping nails in melted carnuba wax. I am told it works well, My father did it to porch chairs at his beech home, I can;t say I noticed stains in the chairs or benches

>I have been advised that the tannic acids in oak destroy copper nails in time. In an outdoor project the museum people told us to use hand forged nails that had been annealed in tar, which we did about three years ago and no effects or special staining around the nails yet.
