Cummings and Marshalls tools

Moses Yoder in White Pigeon, MI

>A friend of mine is more interested in arrow heads than tools, but has a room in the back of the house called his "primitives room" and is getting some misc tools to display there. So naturally he finds this superb garage sale that I don't know about and calls me over to look at a square and a plane, and I figure yep I've seen squares and planes before, so was mildly shocked to actually see some good finds.

A coffin shaped smoother in rosewood with a either BR or "DR Cummings, Boston" stamp on it, with a Sandusky tool iron in it; and a "Marshalls" square with a 20" blade and 11" long handle on it, brass edged rosewood handle with really fancy brass work where the blade attaches. I'd like to find some history on the makers, and any info on scarcity/value that you might have. Is there a website or other information on the Sandusky stamps to determine the age of the iron?
