>That's what my dad told me. It was 1959. I was 12. I remember the statement clearly. I don't recall what I wanted him to buy, for how much, or from whom. But that was his answer. He went on to far exceed this tight-fisted axiom the remainder of his life and travelled far and wide for ludicrous "bargains". So I have no doubt he believed what he told me.
That's what I was thinking when I noticed the now completed Ebay auction below. It's an LN scrub that retails for $145, closing at $145. Never mind the blade edge.
LN planes don't show up often on Ebay. It puzzles me. I've seen plenty go out of stores in the hands of attractive women at Christmas time. For every painted necktie in America's closets there must be at least one gleaming boxed LN.
Many times I wished that I was younger and rich. I'd put it all in LNs and just wait until the business went the way of all businesses. I'm dying to know what they'll trade at in 50 and 100 years.
