Lufkin Rule

>Hi all,

Does anyone have a website devoted to lufkin rules? I saw a lufkin rule yesterday that was different. It's about 2 feet long, but is curved in it's length. The model no. is 1875? Would it be something a boat builder would use?

Thanks, Mike G.

This site may help. It takes ages to load but has all sorts of Lufkin stuff.

>I'm no expert on rules but it sounds like a Tailors rule something a person that sews clothing would use instead of a shipwright...while maybe particular ones might be rare on general I think they are pretty common as I see a good many even in the old tool heck I live in.Often they are damaged so if you buy it look at it close for repairs....Todd

Would you believe I was working in an upscale taylor shop about two weeks back and there hanging on the wall was a curved rule about two feet long. I thought of posting a "whatzit pic" of it at the time, but got busy.

Wouldn't have fooled you guys anyway :~)
