>Well after reading the directions from Pete Taran on cleaning a saw, I applied some elbow grease and other things in order to clean up the saw.

Attached is the original picture as well as a link to the page.

I started with 220 grit...and rubbed rubbed rubbed.

Then I switched to 320 and made a few passes.

I cleaned the handle screws with some Brasso but it made little difference.

Finally, I did some *light* sanding on some of the rough areas of cracked finished. Not much but just enough to smooth it out and then applied the BLO.

That's my scribbles marking the low and high spots still remaining on my unfinished bench top.

One of these days I'll finish flattening it and put a finish on it...
