where to get engineer's blue

>Or prussian blue, as I understand it is also called.

I know I can go to a machine shop supply store, but don't have one handy. Is there some other sort of place that might have it?

I picked up a granite plate and would like to flatten a plane.

TIA.

>Dykem makes a product called Hi Spot blue but I couldn't find it locally.

I used Prussian Blue oil paint available at art supply stores. It will eventually dry but will stay wet long enough for spotting. Mix in a little baby oil or any other mineral oil and it will stay wet a long time.

As the plane sole gets flat, you'll need to thin it with oil to get a very thin film on the plate.
