>NO, this is not normal. Where is the sawdust? (I know you make it, because I can see the evidence in the GIT photo.) Where is the clutter that's supposed to be all over the benchtop? where are the piles-o-tools whose charm is still hidden beneath a quarter inch of red, black and/or green patina? Where are the piles of in-progress projects with insufficient Round Tuit equity? Where are the boxes full of "project wood" with only significant BTU value? Where are the tires and oil cans and lawn mower and plumber's tools and mechanic's tools? Where are the forked-tailed apprentices? Where are the spider webs? If nothing else, a shop has to have spider webs!

Weeell, I actually sweep after every shop session, put the shavings and sawdust in a box, and carry it to the trash when the box is full.
"Where is the clutter that's supposed to be all over the benchtop?"
I got tired of looking for tools all over the shop. Now everything has a place and I know just where to find that woozle when I need it.
"where are the piles-o-tools whose charm is still hidden beneath a quarter inch of red, black and/or green patina?"
No backlog of old tools to fix up :-(
"Where are the piles of in-progress projects with insufficient Round Tuit equity?"
The last nine months has been spent making stuff for around the house. Nothing glamorous. The list never ends, and I don't think I'll ever get to the bottom of it. I'm looking forward to getting started on all that stuff swmbo's been ripping out of magazines and saying "you can make this right?, but really I need to start putting the bead board around the lolly columns and make the handrail for the basement stair"
"Where are the boxes full of "project wood" with only significant BTU value? Where are the spider webs? If nothing else, a shop has to have spider webs!"
Well, there is the other side of the shop where my lumber rack and bins are, This is where the spiders hang out. I still have a clear path to the shop fridge cuz ya know, even the scraps are in bins and boxes :-)
This one I made for me.

>Hi Mike,
I guess the point is that now you know a little bit more about me. My background is in construction. I started out in commercial interiors, moved on to out of the ground construction, and I am now back in interiors. Only this time partnered in my own business.

>Fender Prosonic in seafoam green. One input, two channels with squash box. Used to gig around playing Led Zep and Hendrix covers, but I have matured some in my late 30's and mostly play my 1946 Gibson LG-2 acoustic when I've got the time. Lets just say country fingerstyle blues and bluegrass is about as hard rockin' as I get these days :-)
