>Maybe for the muppets Norris should have taken out a patent with purely depth adjustment - and no lateral adjustment at all. I just can't believe what I'm reading or accept there is any basis of truth at all to what you say - either that or you've never met anyone that knows how to adjust a Norris. Take it from a cabinetmaker (who has been using Norris planes since 1968), this is the way to laterally adjust a Norris: thumb hooked around adjuster knob + index finger pressed against right hand side of blade. Squeeze thumb and index finger together. This will give you the most sensitive lateral adjustment you'll ever need. Reverse thumb and finger for left hand side of blade. Save your hammer for driving in nails.
