>Mike, I deleted the two posts, as you requested. But I'm not sure this link to a Yahoo site is going to work well, either.

If you can get the photo down to 40K, use the Optional Graphic Upload feature here on WoodCentral to store it on the WC server. Then no ads will appear, and views won't be limited.

Best, Ted

>Thanks Ted. I had to send the pic to the wife's computer so she could resize it and then send it back to myself...what a hassle, lol.

>Well, I know pretty close to zero about antiques, but IMO it looks great exactly as it is. A tool chest is not a fine dining table and shouldn't look like one. A well worn, well used chest is a beautiful thing.

Don't touch it

>I would use that exactly as is. As long as it is solid and the joints aren't coming apart. It looks like a well used tool chest.

I don't recommend taking it in the truck however, unless you are meticulous with the tools you carry.Things tend to happen on the road.If a little old lady suddenly walks between cars, your antique chest goes crashing into the back of the cab!Or the barbeque your wife has you carry home falls on it.---Jack

>Mike,

I agree with Jack, don't touch it, and for goodness sake don't put it in your truck as it is bound to disapper for sure. That chest is a thing of beauty and even an honest man would have troubles not to swipe it. Besides, as Jack pointed out it will accumulate dings and dents that you'll kick yourself over. If you must have a working tool chest I'd build a replica. After seeing it, I'm not even so sure I'd wax it but just leave it as is.

Mike that is a beautiful chest you have--tool chest that is. ;~), make careful decisons with it. I sure would like to be able to smell the inside of it as I bet it has that "old smell" that only Time can provide.

thanks for going thru the hassle to show us this tool chest, as it is really a thing of beauty and something to behold.
