Neglected museum

>This is a little embarassing.

At the beginning of the road I live on is a museum called Willowbrook Museum Village. I've been on this road for about 15 years. I pass the museum every day, sometimes many times. I know the director personally, she even offered me a job once painting some buildings.

I've never taken the time to take the tour. I always say,"Oh I'll check it out some day". I know they have a completely restored antique merry go round in a building specially built for it and they have a candy store cause my daughter used to go there when she was little.

From the road you can see old pumps on shelves but besides that I have no idea what else they may have.

I got a flyer in the mail today(first time I've ever seen one from them). The flyer has a schedule for the season which includes the following;may 15th-Harry Reed ,local woodworker, shapes wood on a spring pole lathe.

he returns on June 19th,July 17th

August 21,22 New England Blacksmith member, Bob Robinson, demonstrates blacksmithing techniques.

August 28th Larry Cable, locksmith and antique tool restorer, demonstrates saw sharpening and displays a few antique locks.

Theres alot more too-chair caning ,quilting, antique truck clubs but I listed the stuff that got my attention.

So what do you think? Is this worth a little investigation? I think I'll be visiting the first chance I get. If I see anything interesting I'll take pictures.---Crackerjack

>Man, I wish I'd known of that museum last summer. I was all around it when we went on vacation up there. I did visit Liberty, though. Quite a quaint little tool store they have there and reasonable prices, too. Too bad I had a shallow wallet,( ie. Crowbar in the hip pocket syndrom.).

>Mike, I made it to Walterboro down your way by accident in '69 while hitchhiking south to Mardi Gras. Rte 95 was under construction and the only way was on 15. Interesting place.---Jack

>yeah, I've been to Walterboro, LOL. Interesting would be the word I'd use to describe it. It's about 5 hours south of us. I live in tool hell up in the "Golden Corner" of S. Carolina Where GA, NC, and SC come together.
