Drawknife progess
Phil Smith
>Drawknife is ready for handles. Bill and I took pictures of cutting tang for handle and grinding bevel on belt sander. Dropped film off today. Will post pictures of progress next week. Still haven't decided whether to make handles straight of whether to tilt 12.5 deg so that handle angle is same using either side of drawknife.
I used drawknife to flatten the wheel on my makita wet grinder while flattening the back of the drawknife. The CPM 3V is dramatically slower to grind than good quality antique drawknives.
Goal was to be done by now but past winter and spring has been really busy. Daughter moved wedding from May to this past February and I spent much of winter and January making pens and pencils as presents for out of town guest. Should have time to get back in shop and finish making handles for chisels and handles for drawknife.
Thanks it's very interesting
