Flattening waterstones with drywall screen...

I read about using drywall screen to flatten chisel backs. I had a bunch of stones that needed flattening. Seizing the opportunity I will have to say there is no turning back.

I can't remember what grits I use.

Mike, 120 grit works fine in my experience

I, too, found using 120 grit drywall sheets on my King stones to work quickly and be less likely to load up than W&D sandpaper.

It appears, however, that this does not suit some brands of waterstone so should not be seen to be applicable in all cases. As I recall (Steve said) they did not work with Shaptons.
