Mike the finger plane man

OK. It's me. I listed the cap as a finger plane. A very honest mistake.

Sorry to disappoint. I wish I could say it was listed just for a hoot, but not the case. I actually did think that's a finger plane. In case you never noticed, it fits perfectly into your hand, and the edge on this one definitely seems to have been sharpened, even though someone emailed me to say it's iron and can't be sharpened.

About 10 people have emailed me so far to say this is not a finger plane, and not even a chisel. But damn it would make a great one, either way, and the price is definitely right. I have been entertained on ebay constantly since I began listing things about a year ago, and I am happy to provide some entertainment in return. I am going to leave it listed just to read all the funny email people are sending, and it's nice to know that all here on woodcentral are having a laugh at my expense.

Rest assured I am not a wood worker (that's probably no surprise) but I am a good marketing person. If anyone needs marketing services, please look at my web site, and give me a call.

Gotta chime in with the others who said that your post to admit it was you took some courage and I applaud you for it. Got to admit to getting a chuckle out of it myself. :~) At least you can laugh at yourself as well eh?

I laugh at myself all the time......just so I can be lie everybody else. ;~) Yeah, I provide myself with endless hours of entertainment.

Well you guys think way too much about wood. Nobody thought the whole thing was funnier than I did. I have been laughing for two days now. Courage is hardly what it took to admit it, but thanks for all your obviously nurturing thoughts. I may take up carpentry just to hang out with such sympathtic people around the world. Why don't you all get together and solve world peace or something?

World Peace

Eric Hedberg

>Mike,

I think we are working on world peace. If you can get a bunch of woodworkers together from different parts of the country (and world) and get them to agree to disagree (politely and with respect) on tools and techniques, then I think we are well on our way there. Give woodworking a try, you might enjoy it. You will find plenty of help here as we all remember what it was like to start out. Take a look at SHOP SHOTS and get inspired!

>Is the best way to approach world peace with bevel up or bevel down?Pins or tails first?

As we`re working on world peace, how long should our bench be?After we achieve world peace what kind of finish will we put on it?

So many questions,so little time.

Peace,

Let's compromise

Eric Hedberg

>Perhaps the way to World Peace is not through the dovetailing of our interests, but through finger joints joined in friendship, and if that doesn't work we'll just butt up against it and screw it. Who say's woodworking is not the metaphor for life, warped as it is. Whoa, time for coffee ;-)

Eric

Angus, didn't I see you in the Lord of the Rings trilogy?
