Fastening glass in a cabinet-results

>I wasn't able to find much info on the net so using what I got from people here and my own dumb guesses I went ahead and put in the glass.

For those who don't know what I'm talkin about,I built a cherry wall clock with a round door(15")on top and a rectangular door(9x15)below it. Both have glass rabbetted in from the inside.

I made bead from cherry in four pieces and mitered the corners to retain the lower door glass.Drilled holes with a pin drill and inserted tiny brass pins.

For the round door I put a small amount of clear silicone sealer in the rabbett to keep the glass from falling out in case the putty failed and put linseed oil based glazing putty around the edges of the glass.

Historically correct? I doubt it,especially that silicone part, but it served my purpose and I think it looks great.

Thanks everyone for your help and when I get everything buttoned up I'll take a few pictures.---Crackerjack

Thanks
