Where to get the little tapping out hammer.

>I tapped out my special japanese smoothers iron for the first time the other day and fortunately it was easy, the problem I had to borrow somebody elses tools to do it.

I cannot find the little hammer used for tapping out the ura. It looks like a little claw hammer only the claws are fused together and come to a fine ball end. Does anybody know where it can be purchased.

>Ed,

I like the Boat Builders Hammer that JWW sells. The 6 oz size. In the catalog I have, it's p. 8, item #11.505.18.

Am real interested in the one you're trying to find though--would like to see one.

>If you can't find the hammer you're looking for, try Rio Grande Jeweler's Supply. They carry hammers of every imaginable configuration, including ones with ball ends. I've attached a link to their web site.
