Panels cupping now - problem or not?

>Hey, everyone -

Ok, the panel that twisted (earlier post) mellowed out on it's own. All's good. New problem:

The six-board chest I'm hoping to assemble tomorrow is made from several species of wood I had lying around. The visible portions inside the chest are magnolia and some pretty spastically-colored maple. They clashed horribly; they got covered over with milk paint today, and will get sealed with wax or polycrylic tonight (still pondering that one). Anyway, as kind of expected, the panels cupped a bit - all convex to the painted side, which makes sense, since those fibers are swollen from the moisture.

Now I'm wondering, will they flatten out overnight? It's 70 here today, they each got two coats of milk paint. I'm thinking that, worst case, I could spritz the concave sides with a little water a while before assembly to even things out.

Thoughts? On the plus side, I got all my joints pinned (fingers notwithstanding) and ran some cut nail tests, and everything looks groovy.

Thanks for any input.

Scott
