>And all you other galoots in or near Connecticut.Elephant's Trunk flea starts Sunday. I spent this last weekend at all the other fleas and if what I picked up is any indication , this season will be amazing. Partial listing from this weekend: #4c type 11, very odd scraper plane like a #12 but absolutely no mfg. markings and a wood sole???; an old Shelton (I dunno, it was cheap) Yankee drill #41 with all the bits crispy; #65 marking guage; #191 rabbet plane circa 1909 ; #52 spoke shave circa 1912-1918; weird Keen Kutter Handle Patent dated 1877, some boxwood folding rules; Goddel-pratt breast drill Pat mar.31, 1896; Small 6" drawknife; Merit handled scraper; box of auger bits; miscellaneous wood clamps and a strange little metal block plane with a brass strip/fence down the center of the sole and a profile blade that appears to be for cutting a radius.

>Walt...Nice Haul!! I went to the Fishkill Flea and got there a little late. Seemed pretty beat although I picked up a few perfect handle screwdrivers, a pair of saws, a 41A, and a small rachet screwdriver - maybe a MF. I'll try the Elephant's trunk this week.

>Fishkill is usually so-so. On any given week there are 4-5 tool guys, plus people with a few tools and lots of them let the hand tools go cheap. Never paid more then $2.00 for a saw, and I've gotten some nice No. 7's, No. 8's, 23's, D8's, Atkin's and a D120. Chisels are usu. .25-1.00. Buck, stanley 750's witherby, etc. Planes are harder to come by, but I got a 6C for $8.00, a 9 1/2 for $12.00, and a nice post war 220 for $1.00. After I go to the Elephant's trunk, I'll let you know how they compare.
