Dovetail saw choice

>I've heard good things abour both. I have LN and it's nice. Never seen an Adria. If you have a chance to hold them both, I'd go with the one that feels more comfy in your hands.

>I own the LN (actually the pre-LN Independence) and I've used the Adria. They cut equally well. The Adria has a slightly bigger handle which folks with larger mitts find more comfortable.

>The bubinga handle! Actually my hands are not that big, and I love my Adrias.

>My eBay Adria ($85 new) arrived this week, I hope to try it out today ... The handle looks to me to be made for a three-finger grip, with index on top/side. My hands are about average I'd guess, and I can squeeze all 4 fingers in, but wouldn't try to use it that way. But, the bubinga handle is indeed a beauty. I tried the LN at a Woodcraft in CT, the handle wasn't as glove-ish feeling to me.
My other 'looking-at' was to get an old Disston/Atkins/somesuch and send it to Tom Law for the tune-up. Will probably still do that for a tenon saw.

>I tried both at a woodworking show when I was looking to buy one. Both were equally good but I liked the feel of the LN better so I bought that one.
It's been asked

>I've seen this question asked here quite a few times and the final answer is always the same. I know,I've been wondering myself. It's a 50/50 choice.Except for personal preference, there are no definite reasons why one saw is better than the other. I personally like the look of the Adria.----Jack
Consider Vlad
Davy
>I'll throw another option into the mix and make a shill for Vlad Spehar's dovetail saw. Cheaper than either of the other two and he customizes it to your hand size so it's always a good fit. You can also specify what type of wood you want, though the standard is cherry. I got mine in bubinga for a few bucks more. Couldn't be happier. Do a Google search for Spehar Tool Works and you'll find his web site.
