Fixed that Brace

>Went to work on that Brace that I mentioned the other day and got it working. :~) I took a LARGE pair of channel loks to the ratchet adjustment ring and broke it loose, and slowly wiggling it back and forth and squirting in some penetrant I was able to get it free and rotating smoothly. Yeas, I did put a few teeth marks in the ring, but since this brace was in such bad shape any way they are of no matter. A few strokes with a fine file and they are unnoticeable now.
I did discover that the whole chuck end of the brace is merely pressed onto the shaft. It sure shocked me when the whole thing twisted around. I thought that it might of been threaded on, but it's not, at least not on this one.
At any rate it sure is satisfying for me at least to get this tool back into functional condition again. why I spent so much time on it I'll never know as it is nothing rare. It is a Stanley # 813G probably from the ' 60's or'70's is my guess. Now, I've got to give it back to my buddy so that he can hang it on his wall. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!! :~(
