>I don't see anything in the archives about flattening a courigated plane. I bought a 608 off of e-bay and want to touch the bottom up a little is there anything to be differently from regular flat bottomed planes? I have a very large piece of float glass from a coffee table that's dead flat and plan on spray glueing a few sheets of 400 grit and then some 600 grit wet dry. Does anyone bother taking it higher than 600? Thanks Jim

>Flatten it like any other plane. It should go faster because of the courigations. I never take plane bottoms above 600 grit. BTW a 8 is a big plane and you will probably not get it really flat unless you spend a lot of time on it. Just make sure it's flat at the front, back and around the mouth.
