>Dennis,
I know after WWII things from Japan where stamped "Made in Occupied Japan" indicating that Japan was under Allied control at the time of manufacture, right?
I'm thinking that Britzone in this case is short for "British Zone" right?
Thanks for the timeframe of the date of manufacture. Think I should use it, or put it in my "special" tool pile?
Amazing the history lessons that we can stumble into as tool accumulators eh?

>Well my guess is you try it out and make it a user, from my way of thinking if you had to "zap" it its not one of those collectable items.
One of my fav's are a occp germany pliers that just work for most things, so for me i use them.

>Hi,
Yes, it certainly means the "British Zone" of Germany (the north), this was important between the end of WW2 and the foundation of the federal republic in '49

What does Extertal mean? Is that perhaps your hometown?
Back in '82 I walked into the Army Recruiters office and said "Sign me up for Germany" and the recruiter said "Sure thing, Germany for you it is, no problem, just sign right here". I wanted to see the castles and other European Architecture, plus with a German name such as Cronkhite I wanted to see the Homeland. To make a long stort short the bloody rotten buggaring b@st@rd sent me to Korea.
