>Just a guess but I think it's a "one of" to make a bead detail around a gently curved surface. The blades are whole so I think from that fact it wasn't used much.

>Ahhh - so one would use one or the other of those two channels at a time. I was trying to see a way to use both at once ... and not succeeding. Thanks.

Make sense, now that I think about it - if one were cutting a foot-radius bead (or whatever it is) in a full circle, it would be nice to be able to switch the direction of the cut as the grain shifts.
