>Since ther seems to be an interest in jointer planes, I was wondering if anyone has had the opportunity to use an infill jointer. The kit from Shephard costs about the same as a LN #8. How do you think this plane's performance would compare to a LN #8, Bedrock 608, or a C & W jointer?

>I'm sure it would work just fine, but ask yourself which of those you'd want to spend any amount of time planing with. It's hard to beat a wooden jointer unless you're training for the Olympics.

Someone from here will probably be there.

Accidental Capitalization

Dave (Arlington, VA)

>Doug -

Opps. I see you accidentially capitalized the second "E" in "Shephard" :-) Gotta watch those keystrokes.

Dave (whose last name has been consistently misspelled as long as he can remember)

PopWW will see multiple Jointers

>It is not the first time, people have mis-spelled the company name. It's funny that the spelling with the origins of the name in it (Sheep Herd), becomes the least common and most frequently mis-spelled. It was also been mis-spelled in a magazine article way back.

We are ina major Jointer building mode right now in preparation for PopWW on the 25th. There are three Jointers under construction right now in addition to the 17 1/2" Adjustable Panel I just posted on Sawmill earlier this evening.

Although, we wont have it ready for Ohio, we should have our 37 1/2" Jointer ready for The New Hampshire WW Guild and The Long Island WW Show in April. Just think how much that one will weigh Scott? Probably twice that 17 1/2" Brass one!

Cheers,

Doug
