More like 46 bucks postage.

>Yep, that'd be me.

Went OK, this is right in the middle of where I finally figured these'd go. Could of gone for more or less and I wouldn't have been surprised.

Was it Ernie who correctly predicted this price w/in $1? Now if only he could use his powers for the betterment of mankind ;)

These really are a nice/decent set of planes, w/a few VERY clean examples.

I hated including the #3 w/the cheeck crack, and forgetting to bring a #8 home, I have multiples of both those planes. By the time I got around to listing I had a tight schedule that day and didn't feel like running back over to the storage to geta different #3 and a #8.

Not sure if I'll do it again at this price. The planes probably would have brought a fair bit more individually (maybe not), but then I would have had appreciably more hassle w/paper work, packaging and shipping.

A couple more big boxes of planes gone would make some room though.

Do you think including a decent block plane and a #78 would make it any more attractive to users?

I also don't know why people were bidding, maybe they were just gonna resell individually and the trying to please bottom feeding users isn't the best sales angle.

Coop.

>I don't know about the other bidders bur Rarebear is a regular poster on the hand tools board at the Woodnet forums. He does a great job completely refettling planes and then resells them for a reasonable profit. No relation or business relationship with him but I will admit to being a satisfied customer!

>My experience is that unless it is a matched set (i.e. all the same type/condition or for wooden planes, the same maker) there isn't a premium for the full set. You'd probably have done better individually, though it is more of a hassle.
