Blasted Broken Bones Gloat

Alan Hamilton

>We were making merry yesterday celebrating my birthday (it's not too late to send gifts). My dear family gave me a set of Two Cherries mortise chisels.

Woo Hoo! They are beautiful! Gloat! Gloat!! GLOAT!!!

I especialy like the large hornbeam handles. These are serious handles. They're just right for me to wrap my paws around and get a good grip, a grip that improves my control and makes it easier to keep the tool properly aligned.

Now the bad news: with all my broken bones in my legs I can't use them. Boo-hoo-hoo. I don't have a mortising bench and obviously can't make one right now. All I can do is admire my new chisels--and of course fondle and caress them.

Hmmm. Seem to me I hear their siren calls right now.

Later,

Alan

>Alan,

Congrats on the new toys! What am Excellent family you have to give such a nice gift.

Sounds like a good time to start planning some serious projects so once you are able to get out into the shop again you'll be ready to make the chips/shaving fly! I'd think that what with all this down time it would be a good chance to get all those dull edges in your shop sharpened up eh? when you get yours done let me know and I'll send you mine. ;~)

Hope your healing up well.

>All dressed up and nowhere to go so to speak. Happy Birthday sounds like a great one mostly. Heal up fast. Hope you can at least get them ready to use.
