Pic of dozuki w/ custom handle

Rich Glisson (Durham, NC)

>Bill T., Fred, K. and other interested parties: Here is a pic of the walnut handle I made for the Lee Valley professional dozuki replacement blade. Handle is about 7/8" x 1 3/16" x 12" long, made by rounding over corners of a rectangular stick. The end was slotted on the table saw with the handle vertical, and 1/8" thick slices of walnut were then glued into the resulting kerf to form a mortise that fit the blade snugly. Then the rivets were installed. I aligned the handle parallel to the back edge of the blade. Danish oil finish.

So can you...

Don't know as it'd ever be necessary, but there's got to be a reason they sell replacement dozuki blades...

>Nice work. The walnut, brass rivets, and the brass (?) blade back go together nicely.
