O/T Looking for a Host is S. Fl.

Todd O. Cronkhite Native of Maine

>Last Thursay night I joined a local Fossil/Mineral club, and they are planning a fossil hunt in Ft. Drum on the 17th of this month. That, from what I understand is a 4 hour or so drive from Jacksonville. My buddy (who is about 60, and also from Maine) and I would like to drive down to the area on Friday the 16th, spend the night, and get to the meeting spot without friving 4 hours first.

Anybody in that area who'd care to put us up fr the night? Don't have to feed us or nothing, and we'd be more than happy to sleep in our sleeping bags out in the garage/barn,shed,tent, or whatever.

I think it would be a good chance to meet an Islander and have a fun evening. What cha' think?

Can do ... but ...

Clay Craig in Miami

>First - are you looking for accommodations for the night of the 16th, or the night of the 17th, or both?

Night of the 16th I can't help you, the place is taken ... 17th I may be able to. But - I'm afraid this is not so much improvement, guys. The place is beachfront on a topless beach in South Beach (and let's be honest, what view is not improved by draping it with half-naked models?) But, my map shows Ft. Drum as being up near Sebring - nearly 200 miles north of my place - about as far as Jax. (I had to look it up - As far as I ever knew, Ft. Drum was nothing more than the name of a serivce plaza on the Florida Turnpike!)

Your best bet would be someone in the Stuart/Ft. Pierce/Vero Beach area. But, if you need a place for the night of the 17th, and are willing to be that far south, you're more than welcome (unfortunately, I couldn't join you myself that evening, I have plans). If you want to look it over, there are some pics at www.claycraig.com (I think the link on that page is labelled 'Interior.')

Let me know ...

>Mike Fitterling on the Power Side has Graciously offered to my friend and I up for the night! I am some kind of stoked I can tell ya. I get to meet another Island, and combine woodworking and Fossiling, plus a bit of a road trip, and the chance to see a new area. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO does it get any better than this?
