***NEW BOARD***

It was pretty clear to me that there is going to be enough interest in hand tools and methods to make this board worth creating. So here you go, folks!

I don't have to tell you how to use the boards or what to talk about. Just have at it and enjoy yourselves. I'll check in from time to time. If anyone wants to act as moderator on this board, let me know.

"Hello" and Thanks!

Hi Ellis and everyone,

Thank you for trying this. I really have no idea of how much work this actually entails, but I do appreciate the effort involved and offered for a place for us hand tool users/Neanders/Galoots/woodworkers to congregate. "Hand Tool Forum" looks and sounds very nice to me. Im looking forward to moving in, meeting new people, seeing old friends and being part of the community. You know, forums are just like life. Why shouldnt they be? When the page turns, it turns, and quite unexpectedly and were never ready or willing to accept it. Well, I know I never am. But here we are.

It is a solace to know that others not only share our passions and joys, but also our losses and hurts as well and reach out with comfort and welcoming. I can say that I feel both.

Thank you and Ill be seeing you around,

Raymond in Trenton NJ
whos gonna start looking for any users guide/policies/posting info (too late for that!) to read up on. I consider toes very important body parts.

I am continually amazed at your...

response time Ellis. This will give those of us who use a sled on the slippery slope a place of our own. Bless you my son, go and sin some more. LOL

Thanks Ellis,

It's great to know that we neanders (nearly neander in my case) will continue to have a small corner of the web. I have briefly seen the part of the site related to support and contributions and plan on helping once payday rolls around.

Thanks again,

Steve in Ajax

Don't go nuts looking...

...for our rules and regulations. This is a self-moderating board for the most part and I trust everyone to keep things civil. No spam, no flames, no commercial posts, no commercial websites, no off-color humor or bad language, and preferably no politics or religion.

I've never posted these rules simply because it seems to me to be just good common-sense Netiquette. Our own regulars have borne out my suspicions over the years.

Use your best judgement, eh?

Thanks, Ellis

this is going to be fun. Though we all thought it unnecessary before, now it is obviously a requirement! I, too, have no link on the left menu, but have bookmarked. Welcome to all the Neanders, and I'm glad to have this new board. -Barb S.

Ellis, thanks for the lightning speed with which you reacted and created a home for us....I'll be checking the other boards as well, but it's good to know my neander questions will have a home to go to!

Re: Don't go nuts looking...

Firstly, thanks for providing a new home for hand tool fans.

Secondly, would you expand upon no commercial posts, no commercial websites? The other things you mentioned are manners and politeness, but the commercial restrictions really have to be what pleases you, Ellis, so I am looking for guidance.

Thanks!
