OT-Truck cap gas struts
So I am in need of replacing the gas struts on my truck cap. I have the # off the old one but it does not seem to be available anywhere. Has anyone had experience on how to source a substitute?
Thanks!

Re: OT-Truck cap gas struts
Sure, you will need to take one off, and head to the auto parts store. They can match them pretty easy by length and how many pounds they are.
Re: OT-Truck cap gas struts
In my experience, auto parts stores are absolutely clueless about struts for pickup truck caps. For mini vans and hatch backs, they're all over it.
For my old pick up truck I found some through Amazon several years ago that worked well. Selection was based on the length of the strut.

etrailer.com is another source.

Tom, I seem to recall using the number from mine to look up the specs and was able to match them up with the pounds of lift and the length. It's been a few years though, and I'm not really sure what I had for lunch yesterday🤓
