I have a PC 890 series router with a fixed base. The base in question has the vacuum “port”. The router slowly slips while I am using it. I don’t have the problem with the other fixed base (which I use for dovetail work). Any suggestions?
I looked at my PC 890 with fixed base 8901 Type 2. If I open the locking handle fully, there is a hole through the locking handle that lines up with a torx (?) screw. I am guessing if you tighten that screw it will squeeze tighter. I would start with a quarter turn and sneak up on it. Looked it up on E-replacement parts and that screw appears to come coated with LockTite to keep it from vibrating out of position. If yours is not Identical I bet it's similar.
